A fact based informational and entertaining look at dental ceramics, how they have influenced modern dentistry and how this material will develop into the future. With an emphasis on history, bonding and innovations.  

By the end of this lecture delegates will be able to: clarify the factors that have influenced the success and failure of dental ceramics, define how innovations in dental history have shaped todays opinions of all ceramic restorations. 

 

Recognise how techniques have changed to maximise the success of ceramic restorations, clarify how the properties of dental cements can be used to optimise ceramic restorations, state the different bonding protocols recommended for glass and oxide ceramics. Specify the varying ceramic applications and how Ivoclar Vivadent have developed materials and techniques that optimise ceramics for aesthetics and function, highlight the current research and development of ceramics in dentistry,apply the knowledge and understanding of IPS e.max to clinical cases.
