What are veneers?

A  Porcelain veneer is a very thin custom made layer of porcelain which is bonded onto the front of a tooth.

Porcelain Veneers can be used to fill spaces or change the shape or colour of your teeth-they are incredibly strong and resistant to wear and because they’re porcelain they look like natural teeth in all lighting conditions.

Porcelain veneers provide a long lasting natural looking result that won’t discolour making them the gold standard in cosmetic dentistry..

Porcelain veneers are ultra thin which means that very little tooth preparation is required making them a healthy option too.

The benefits of veneers

Smile with confidence
Veneers provide a confidence boost for those self-conscious about their smiles. They look natural and behave like normal teeth, meaning you can smile widely for photos, speak confidently and feel good. We know how important it is that you are able to smile with ease.

Improve the appearance of your teeth
Veneers can hide a range of cosmetic issues without damaging the tooth structure. Although they are a permanent solution to dental flaws, they can fix discolouration, chips and spacing issues and require little special aftercare.

Durable and long-lasting
Veneers mimic your natural tooth enamel, making them durable and long-lasting. Porcelain veneers are stain resistant, ensuring a bright, white smile for years to come.

What we offer

The traditional feldspathic porcelain veneer offers the most aesthetic veneer solution, gaining its strength from adhesive composite resin cementation.

Lithium disilicate pressed ceramic veneers display excellent aesthetics and strength with the ability to correct discolouration.

The Vivo porcelain veneer is exclusively produced by HQ Dental and offers the perfect solution for minimally or non-invasive cosmetic smile enhancement and requires little tooth preparation, restoring your looks and confidence with ease.

HQ Dental’s Vivo teeth veneers are skillfully created with outstanding aesthetics. The Vivo porcelain veneer is wafer-thin but displays a much greater strength than a standard feldspathic veneer.

Temporary veneers are also available to give you a preview of how you would like your teeth to ultimately look.
Once your new veneers have been fitted by a cosmetic dentist, you’ll be able to speak and eat normally and immediately enjoy the benefits of a new and improved smile.

Fitting dental veneers - What's the process?

With composite bonding and veneers in Leeds, you’ll be able to discuss the areas of concern you want to address with HQ Dental in an initial consultation.

Good treatment planning is essential so if you’re having several veneers our technicians will create a ‘diagnostic wax up’-this is a model showing how your veneers will look for you to approve. This  model also helps our dentist know how little preparation is required-we always aim to reduce as little tooth structure as possible-we are industry leaders and our cutting edge technology allows  us to create veneers which are just 2mm thick and this means that sometimes no tooth reduction at all is required.

Because veneers are incredibly thin and semi translucent the colour of a veneer is usually influenced by  the underlying tooth so we will sometimes want to whiten your teeth before we start.

Impressions or an Intra oral scan is  taken and  your porcelain veneers are custom made by our technicians out of different layers of porcelain-the process usually takes around a week but it can be quicker if required.

We can then fit your veneers-we often use different coloured cements to influence the final result too… to make sure your veneers are perfect

    Frequently asked questions

There are several types of veneers to fit style and budget. Different materials include porcelain or ceramic veneers or resin composite materials. Your dentist will discuss which is the best option for you depending on your individual requirements and how you want your veneers to look.

Porcelain veneers and composite veneers are often used to mask uneven teeth, repair chipped teeth or discoloured teeth, offering a tooth-whitening effect and restoring tooth colour.

Composite bonding and veneers are designed to improve the look of your natural teeth, but they don’t repair or strengthen the tooth like a crown might.
Porcelain veneers are stain resistant, can resist cavities and can be longer lasting as a result.

Veneers can be used to fix gapped teeth, broken teeth or discolouration. As long as you have a good level of oral health and are committed to maintaining dental hygiene, many people are able to have veneers.

Veneers can last between five and 15 years, or longer with proper care. Regular brushing, flossing and keeping up with dental appointments will help to prolong the lifespan of your veneers.

You can’t whiten veneers after they are fitted, so it’s recommended that you undergo teeth whitening before this. Your dentist will carefully shade match your veneers to match your natural teeth.
